Guitarist in appeal after kit is stolen

A ROCK guitarist is appealing for help after instruments and musical equipment worth more than £2,500 were stolen from his Batchley home.

Three guitars and an amplifier were among the items taken from Chris Tamburro’s home in Batchley Road. Each of the guitars is worth more than £500 and the guitarist of popular heavy metal band Khaos Theory has written to music shops across the area alerting them to the theft.

“It’s not just the value of the guitars, you become attached to them and you know the way they play.” Mr Tamburro said.

“It’s also the inconvenience. The band has a gig at Redditch United next Friday – which is also my birthday – and I am having to find someone to borrow guitars off.”

The Redditch-based band has performed across England and Wales, appeared on BBC radio and are regulars at the Morton Stanley Festival.

Raiders targeted Mr Tamburro’s home while he was away on holiday. They made off with two PRS electric guitars (one red, one grey), a red Ibanez electric guitar, a Blackstar amplifier and other pieces of musical equipment. They also took an an Alba 32 inch TV, an XBox One and a Michael Kors watch.

Mr Tamburro added: “As you can imagine, I’m absolutely devastated. This is everything I have ever worked for over the past ten years, and I am now only left with my acoustic guitar.”

A police spokeswoman said: “Two males were seen running away from the building and we would urge anyone with any information to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact PC O’Reilly at West Mercia Police on 01527 586180 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. The crime reference number is 865190714.
