THE CAMPAIGN to purchase a £1.6million surgery robot for the Alexandra Hospital is £4,000 closer thanks to a summer ball.
The event held at Chateau Impney in Droitwich and organised by staff at the urology departments at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust saw money raised for the Rory The Robot appeal, which aims to improve outcomes for patients undergoing surgery for prostate cancer.
Consultant urologist Paul Rajjayabun said: “Our summer ball was a great way to promote the Rory the Robot appeal for Worcestershire’s first surgical robot.
“I am delighted by the huge amount we raised but we still have a way to go.”
To donate to the appeal, visit www.justgiving.com/rorytherobot or text RORY97 £ and the amount to 70070.
