Help build ‘wall of change’ for Redditch project

REDDITCH’S very own Indigo arts is appealing to local people to create a ‘wall of change’ in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

The project is designed to complement their brand new show, the musical ‘Songs for a New World’ by Jason Robert Brown, which will be performed exclusively for Redditch audiences in the centre.

Indigo arts director Cathy Moss said: “Jason famously said of his show ‘it’s about one moment, It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice: Take a stand or turn around and go back.’

“Given recent events, this couldn’t be a more appropriate musical for the current climate.”

To run alongside the show Indigo is asking local people to share their groundbreaking moments, when they have made a decision, or a choice, or completely turned their lives around in just one moment.

“So many people have had to make life changing decisions, or have subconsciously taken steps that have led to new horizons, just one moment can change everything,” said Cathy.

“We would love to hear from people willing to share these with us, so we can create a wall in the pop-up theatre to record these life changing moments.”

The show will be performed by IndigoCo in an empty shop unit in Millward Square and will run from July 21-23.

Anyone who wants to get involved in the project can email Indigo on [email protected] – with the subject heading ‘A New World’, or drop in to the pop-up theatre at any time and write their experience down in the record books.

Entries can be named, or anonymous, but the area of Redditch where people live is needed.

Tickets for all shows are available to book from the pop-up theatre, or online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/indigoarts
