UNPRECEDENTED seasonal demand is being placed on A&E today (Tuesday).
More people than expected have turned up at the emergency department at the Alexandra Hospital as well as Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Bosses at the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust have called on residents to consider all alternative options before going to A&E.
Minor accidents such as cuts, sprains and rashes can be dealt with at a minor injuries unit while pharmacies can help with a range of issues. Anyone unsure about where to go can ring 111 for advice 24 hours a day.
Choking, chest pain, blacking out, blood loss and fractures are all considered emergencies so anyone with those symptoms should visit A&E immediately.
