A HORSE has been injured in what Neighbourhood Watch are calling a ‘suspicious incident’.
The animal was hurt between 5.30pm on Saturday (October 3) and 10am on Sunday (October 4) in Callow Hill.
Police believe the offender, or offenders, gained access to the field by removing a padlock from the gate and entering the site – which was home to two small horses.
One of the animals has an injury to its face, which the owner believes has been caused by the horse being struck with an unknown object.
The wound may have been caused by the animal hitting its head under a fence or low branch but the owner has found no evidence in the field that this is the case.
The padlock to the gate has also not been found.
Anyone with any information should call police on the non emergency 101 number quoting police reference 0407s041015 or crime reference 22DG/71354H/15.
