GREEN-fingered residents in Batchley are busy making the area beautiful with a series of plantings around the estate.
The Public Health Trust project is being guided by community garden co-ordinator Alistair Waugh with help from residents and a team from HM Hewell.
“We’re looking after gardens for people who cannot do it themselves, helping on the allotments and trying to get young people in gardening,” said Alistair.
The aim is to get families involved in gardening in Batchley and to give them a sense of ownership by making them responsible for a particular area or planting.
“I’ve asked residents to suggest somewhere near their houses so they can keep an eye on a plants and make sure they’re watered,” added Alistair.
If all goes to plan it should ensure that Batchley truly is blooming lovely.
