Jumpering at chance to raise cash

Redditch Editorial 19th Dec, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

CHRISTMAS jumpers earned a Redditch homeless charity a festive boost.

Staff at branches of Arden Estate Agents in Redditch, Bromsgrove, Barnt Green and Rubery raised more than £300 for Redditch Nightstop by going to work in their best yuletide woolly creations.

The money will support the charity’s work reducing the number of young people in the area at risk of experiencing homelessness.

Director James Cope said: “We really believe in this charity and the real difference they make to the community.”

Donations can still be made by texting NITE01 followed by the amount, such as £5 or £10, to 70070.

Susan Sadler, Nightstop’s homelessness prevention officer, said: “We would like to thank Arden for its support – as well as the much-needed funds, it also raises awareness of Redditch Nightstop and the services we provide for young people.”

More hosts are needed to provide emergency accommodation for young people. Anyone interested should contact Redditch Nightstop on 01527 66036 for more information.
