REDDITCH shoppers are being urged to visit their independent shops this month as part of a celebration of the self made retailers.
Kingfisher Shopping Centre will run the event thorough July to mark the contribution of independent shops, such as Humphries Shoes, which have been part of the complex for more than 40 years.
In the last 12 months they have had new additions including Little Gerties, Home Sweet Home and Riley Boutique and centre leaders are asking residents to continue to support them and make a point of making a visit to them over the next few weeks.
Ken Williams, general manager, said: “A lot of people don’t realise how valuable their custom is to their local, independent businesses.
“Every pound spent with independent retailers in your local town can be worth ten times more to your community than if it was spent elsewhere.
“Our eclectic mix of retailers offer shoppers a great selection of services all with an abundance of grace, charm and style.”
