THE LEADER of the town’s Labour group was invited to share the message of Redditch’s second Faith Walk at the Redditch Gurdwara last weekend.

Councillor Bill Hartnett (Lab, Church Hill) visited the Gurdwara on Sunday (April 24), taking with him two pledge banners which were signed by those listening.

The ‘Redditch Pledge’ was at the heart of the Faith Walk, which took place on Sunday, April 17.

The Pledge states: “We as people of Redditch, pledge ourselves as one united community, respecting all races, faiths and beliefs, to build on our common values to achieve happiness and progress for all. Everyone matters.”

The banner is now available to any group or organisation and Coun Hartnett hopes to take the banner on a ‘tour’ of the town and create replicas for each school across the borough to keep and display, demonstrating their commitment to the Pledge.

For more details on how you can sign the Pledge or receive it at your club or group contact Redditch Town Hall on 64252.
