Man admits causing death of baby daughter

Redditch Editorial 18th Jun, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

A MAN has admitted killing his two-month-old daughter.

Tyler Vallance denied murdering Isabella when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday (June 18) but pleaded guilty to manslaughter. The 21-year-old also admitted a section 20 wounding offence and will be sentenced at a later date.

Isabella was taken to the Alexandra Hospital on December 7, 2012 after being found injured at an address in Redditch. She was transferred to Birmingham Children’s Hospital where she died five days later.

The baby’s mother Jessica Wiggins, 19 and formerly of Bromsgrove but who is believed to now reside in Redditch, is still facing a charge of causing or allowing the death of a child and another allegation of child cruelty.

She appeared in the dock after Vallance but was not asked to enter a plea and will appear again before the court on Tuesday (June 24).
