Man airlifted after car hits tree

A DRIVER was airlifted to hospital after his car hit a tree in Oakenshaw.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the Cloverleaf Junction where the Bromsgrove Highway A448 meets the Alvechurch Highway A441 just after 9.30am today (Monday).

A man in his 20s suffered a serious back injury as well as cuts on his face and abdominal pain.

He was given pain relief by a doctor and was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment and treatment.




A spokesman for the ambulance service said the hospital was alerted to the serious condition of the patient.

An ambulance, a paramedic officer, a paramedic in a rapid response car and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham all attended the scene.
