A MAN has been charged in connection with two robberies that took place at in Redditch last week.

Leroy Daniel Morley, of Salters Lane, has been charged with two counts of robbery, and two counts of possession of a firearm while committing Schedule 1 offence.

The 40-year-old appeared before Worcester Magistrates’ Court on Friday (April 22) and was remanded in custody to appear before Worcester Crown Court on Monday, May 23.

The incidents happened over the course of three days, with the first taking place at a bookmakers on Batchley Road on Monday, April 18 at around 3.50pm.

The second was on Wednesday, April 20 at around 9:05am at a bookmakers on Shakespeare Avenue.

A man in his 50s was also arrested in the Batchley area of the town, on suspicion of assisting an offender. He was released on police bail until Thursday, June 2.
