Man taken to hospital after attack

A MAN was taken to hospital after an assault near the town centre.

The 21-year-old victim was walking along Ipsley Street between 4am and 5am on Saturday, November 1.

As he approached the underpass to Lodge Road, four men came from behind and attacked him.

The victim’s friends came to his aid and the men ran off, but he sustained minor injuries and had to be taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
