THE Redditch Standard has bid a heartfelt farewell to its deputy editor Connie Osborne.
Connie joined the Standard three-and- a-half years ago as a trainee reporter and quickly rose through the ranks thanks to her outgoing personality, easy going manner and ability to bring the same level of enthusiasm to stories big and small.
Now the 25-year-old lass is off to pastures new, fulfilling a lifelong ambition to work with the police, taking up the position of press officer with the West Mercia and Warwickshire forces in Stratford.
“I’m going to miss Redditch,” said Connie, “everyone has been so welcoming and it’s been a pleasure meeting members of the community, councillors, all of Redditch in fact.
“I will miss the Standard as well, the people there are like family to me and are the nicest, most dedicated team of people I have ever had the pleasure of coming across.”
Standard editor Ross Crawford said: “Connie has been a first class friend and colleague and we’re sad to see her go. We will truly miss her.”
Tristan Harris, Bullivant Media hub manager added: “Connie has done so much in the last three-and-a-half years in Redditch, covering a multitude of stories and sorting out a number of issues for local residents and groups.
“I know there will be a lot of people across the borough who, like us, will be sad to see her go.
“We wish her well for the future and know she’ll be great in her new role.”
