Meeting to offer more info about Warwick maternity services

Redditch Editorial 15th May, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

MUMS-to-be from Redditch and surrounding areas are being invited to find out more about maternity services at Warwick Hospital.

The maternity unit at the Alexandra Hospital closed late last year with services being transferred to Worcester, with Warwick seizing the opportunity to offer its department to expectant mums.

The event will take place at The Hub @ Henley Community Centre, Henley in Arden, B95 6AF on Thursday, (May 26) from 6pm to 8pm. During the meeting, attendees will hear from the deputy head of midwifery at Warwick Hospital about the services offered to women.

They will also be able to get a better understanding about the process for transferring their care and information on the antenatal clinics run in Alcester and Bidford.

Refreshments will be provided and there will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss their personal circumstances with a member of the maternity team in private.

Wendy Jones, head of midwifery, said: “This meeting is an opportunity for women who have been affected by the closure of the Alexandra Hospital’s maternity unit to learn more about the options available to them. We want to make the process of transferring their maternity care as easy as possible.”
