More than 100 exhibitors to tickle tastebuds at Alcester Food Festival

MORE than 100 exhibitors will be showing off their wares when the Alcester Food Festival comes to town next Saturday (October 17).

The event, fast reaching national important with visitors flocking there from all over the country such is the quality of the goods on offer, last year attracted more than 20,000 people.

“Our objective is quality and a good balance with a high content of exhibitors within a 20 mile radius of Alcester,” said organiser Frank Wood.

“In fact we’ve turned away not short of the people exhibiting to maintain the balance and raise the quality of what’s on offer.




“Nearly 20 per cent of our stall holders are new to us this time, but we also welcome local companies who have been with us almost from our start seven years ago, for example Purity Beers and Hogan’s Ciders.”

The event will be centred on Alcester high street with the Redditch & Alcester Standard playing its part as editor Ross Crawford will be tucking in as a judge in the pudding competition at the Hollybush pub.


Entries are welcome to this competition which will are limited to 15 and will be on a first come first enter basis. To apply, phone 07707 469649.

Away from food, festival-goers will also have the opportunity to climb the church tower and see beyond the houses and over town to the views beyond.

A park and ride system will be in operation off the A435 on the Arden industrial estate. Both it and entry to the festival are free.
