Motorcyclist punched in mouth

Redditch Editorial 2nd Jun, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

A MOTORCYCLIST was punched in the mouth by another driver.

The 30-year-old victim was riding his motorcycle along Willow Way about 1.10pm on Thursday, May 22.

A green Honda pulled out from behind a bus, blocking the victim’s way and making him unable to move.

The motorcyclist raised the palm of his hand asking the driver of the vehicle to wait but the driver made an offensive gesture.

He then lifted his helmet visor and approached the open driver’s window to speak to the man who is in his mid 40s.

The driver – while sitting in the car – swore and spat in the victim’s face.

The victim then reached into the vehicle to grab the car keys to stop the driver leaving while he contacted the police.

But the offender punched him in the mouth and drove away with the victim still holding the keys and causing the immobiliser fob to break.

The driver is described as a white medium build man with short light hair and facial stubble.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward if they saw anything, including passengers on the bus at the time, as well as other vehicles in the area.

Anybody with any information should contact PC Phil Shadwell on 101 quoting crime 22DE/31946Y/14 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
