Mum lops it all off for cancer charity

Redditch Editorial 9th May, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

A BOROUGH mother took the bald step to shave her hair off for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Sarah Ashforth ditched her long locks at Mappleborough Green Village Hall last Saturday (May 3) in memory of her friend who passed away from cancer aged just 13.

The 25-year-old was joined by friends and family to raise £640 for the charity which aims to fund, educate, and support teenagers fighting cancer.

Her hair was then donated to the Little Princess Trust which makes wigs for young people who have lost their hair as a result of cancer.

The amount raised on the day will later be matched by Barclays bank to form a total of £1,280 as part of its pound for pound contribution.
