Mum’s plea for readers’ help with dream trip

STANDARD readers are being urged to help a terminally ill mum-of-two give her children the trip of a lifetime.

Natalie Bradley-Price from Woodrow was given just six weeks to live at the end of February after being born with Fibrosing Alveolitis, a severe lung disease usually found in the elderly.

However, the 30-year-old, has come up with a ‘bucket list’ of just two things she wants to do over the next few weeks – marry her partner Andy and send her sons Bradley, eight, and Callum, 11, to Disneyland in Florida.

Natalie’s friends and family have rallied round to try and raise at least £5,000 so her boys can enjoy a few days in the world’s most famous theme park.

Dozens of donations have already poured in, but they are still more than £1,000 short of the target and so it is hoped Standard readers can make up the rest.

Lisa Dorgan, a family friend and fellow Woodrow resident, originally wanted to raise enough money for Natalie to have a life-saving lung operation in Chicago, but her health deteriorated quicker than expected and she is now unable to breathe unassisted and cannot walk.

“The boys have been through so much recently and we really just want them to have something to look forward to,” Lisa, aged 35, said.

“Going to Disneyland will bring them a bit of joy at such a difficult time.

“We want them to be able to enjoy themselves without having to worry about anything and do whatever they want to do.

“That’s why we are looking to raise such a significant amount.”

Natalie’s life has been tainted with tragedy since she was a baby. She spent her first year in hospital while her mum Tracey passed away from lung cancer while she was pregnant with Callum and she then lost her ten-week-old daughter Paige to Infant Cot Syndrome.

Her youngest son Bradley has also been diagnosed with the same rare lung condition as his mum and despite growing into a happy healthy boy he has to be closely monitored.

“If you could have one less drink when you go out this weekend and donate it to Nats bucket list it would be amazing,” Lisa added.
