REDDITCH schools have been working alongside a renowned artist as part of a £55,000 Forge Mill Needle Museum and Bordesley Abbey project.
The grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) will go towards the Stories Behind the Stones project which will explore the Bordesley Abbey site through different workshops, events and technology.
The project, which runs until November, kicked off with stone carving workshops with pupils from four different first schools where students learnt about the medieval art of stone masonry by carving soap and stone.
These workshops were also supported by a grant from the Redditch School of Art Trust and the students have been working with established public artist Andy De Comyn.
