On a mission to get teens reading

A REDDITCH writer is on a mission to get teenagers reading again after publishing a new book.

Margot Bish, who delivers the Standard newspaper, has penned the tale of a teenage boy who is struggling to get to grips with moving to a new area.

In A Difficult Age, Moving On character Joe ends up in serious trouble when a murder happens and needs to find a way to keep both himself and his friends safe.

The gardener from Abbeydale said although the story is fictional, she related to the difficulty of trying to make new friends in school after moving around the country a lot while growing up.

“I think teenagers just don’t read enough nowadays, and it is such a shame.” she said.

“I wanted to write something which I know they could relate to and they would find interesting. We should be encouraging more and more teenagers to read and enjoy it.”
