PUPILS and staff from St Stephen’s First School were celebrating after being declared ‘outstanding’ by the Diocese of Worcester.
The Mabey Avenue school was awarded the rating in its Church School report after a visit by inspectors, who were shown around by pupils on the Worship Committee who help support aspects of Christian worship within school life.
As well as praise for the ‘loving’ and ‘nurturing’ nature of the school, the team was also impressed by the commitment of staff and the support the school received from parents who they said viewed it as an ‘extension of the family’.
The report highlighted the ‘highly developed sense of community which is totally inclusive and which leads to strong and secure relationships between all members of the school community’.
