PARENTS at a Redditch school have followed their children into the classroom to learn more about IT.

Ten parents at Birchensale Middle School took part in the ten-week family learning course in a scheme run by the school and Worcestershire County Council.

The course encourages parents and carers to go into the school where they have the opportunity to work with their child in relaxed and fun sessions.

At the end of the scheme parents had the option to sit an exam and receive a qualification.

“This has been a great course for parents, carers and their children to come together and learn ICT skills which they can share.” said course co-ordinator Sally Gleaves.

“Family Learning courses like this one, offered in partnership with Libraries and Learning Service at Worcestershire County Council, are a great way for parents to gain confidence, understand what their children are doing and know how to keep them safe online.”
