POLICE in Redditch are appealing for information after an armed robbery in Redditch on Monday afternoon (April 18).

Officers were called at approximately 3.50pm to William Hill Bookmakers on Batchley Road in Redditch after a man reportedly entered the store with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money from staff.

The man then made off on foot in the direction of Salters Lane with approximately £500 in cash.

Firearms officers were deployed in a bid to track down the culprit, described as tall with dark skin, of slim build and with short dark hair.

He was thought to be wearing a long khaki green coat with a hood.

Detective Inspector Emma Wright said: “Thankfully nobody was injured during this incident, however the individual remains at large and we are working hard to trace him as soon as possible.

“I would ask that anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or has any further information gets in touch with police.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call the non-emergency number 101 and quote the incident reference 406s of April 18.

Information can also be passed on anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website: www.crimestoppers-uk.org
