Police appeal after cash is stolen in armed robbery at Hollywood shop

CASH was stolen when an armed robbery was carried out in Hollywood.

The incident happened about 9.30pm last Wednesday (May 18) at the convenience store in Drakes Cross Parade when a member of staff felt pressure against his back and he turned around to see a man holding a blunt object to him.

The raider made multiple demands for the tills to be opened and the worker tried to explain to him that he had no keys and this would not be possible.

The robber then went behind the counter and forced open the tills, grabbing cash and fleeing along Alcester Road, towards the Maypole.

This enabled the employee to go into the back of the store and call the police.

The thief was of mixed race, around 6ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing a navy blue hooded top, navy blue jogging bottoms, black trainers and had a black hat and scarf on his head and face.

It is believed he arrived at the store from the direction of Shawhurst Lane.

Witnesses or anyone with any information on the robbery should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
