Police appeal after Redditch shop is robbed by two thugs

POLICE in Redditch are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a shop in Birchfield Road was robbed on Monday (June 6).

The incident happened between 12.15pm and 12.30pm at Today’s News.

Two men entered shop, threatened the female assistant with a blunt instrument and told her to open the till.

The men, who were wearing dark coloured boiler suits and woolly hats, made off with a quantity of cash and drove away from the scene in a small, dark coloured car which had been parked in Feckenham Road.




The shop assistant was not injured during the incident.

Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it or saw the men or car in the area.


DC Cheryl Jones said: “This was a frightening experience for the shop assistant, but thankfully she was not physically injured during the incident.

“I would urge anyone who has any relevant information to contact us as soon as possible.”
