Police plea after thieves target Redditch homes

WINYATES residents are being urged to secure their homes and vehicles following a spate of thefts.

West Mercia Police are warning people to make sure their doors are locked after a number of items were stolen in past

week.

This included sat navs, handbags and tapes which were taken during the night.




Detective Inspector Emma Wright said: “On some of these occasions, the properties were unsecured, making it possible for opportunist thieves to enter.

“Don’t make it easy for criminals, check that your home is secure. Please ensure that all ground floor doors and windows are securely locked, especially at night or when leaving the room for a period of time.


“In addition, please ensure vehicles are secure when parked at on near your home as these have also been targeted.”
