PRISONERS have been doing their bit for the community by creating hanging baskets for Studley’s in Bloom bid.
Green-fingered inmates from HMP Hewell have been creating 40 baskets to help boost the village’s attempt for floral glory again this year.
It is the second time the prison’s garden centre has offered its support after stepping in last year to save the day when vandals ripped out plants and destroyed the planters.
Gill Liebthal, chairman of Studley in Bloom, said: “It was nice to give them the business and pay them back for being so good to us last year.
“The baskets are beautiful and I have received so many compliments already.”
She added she hoped it was fifth year lucky for the team who have managed to secure Gold each time as well beating villages such as Henley in Arden to win the title of small town category winner.
