A SPECIAL prom night will be held to pay tribute to a popular teenager who drowned earlier this year.

The night, named Prom For Porky, will celebrate the life of Richard Fellows who tragically passed away after getting into difficulties near Five Tunnels in March.

The 15-year-old, who was nicknamed Porky, was found in the water but was later confirmed dead at the Alexandra Hospital.

His family are hosting the event in honour of the Trinity High School pupil as well as raising funds for Batchley Support Group and the Royal Life Saving Society.

From 6pm until 10pm next Wednesday (July 30) anyone under 18 can attend Area nightclub, on Church Road, where there will be music, face and body painters, a sweet stall, photobooth, a singer and raffles.

Then from 11pm until the early hours, over 18s can also enjoy the club and a host of activities to mark the teenager’s life.

Dress code is prom fabulous for girls and James Bond cool for boys.

Richard’s sister, Chantalle Aston, said: “I just want to say that we want it to be a happy event that will be well remembered and to celebrate the life of Richard.

“We want to make him proud and raise money to help his memory live on and to help raise awareness of the dangers of open water that people do not see.”

Tickets cost £5 and can be purchased at www.theticketsellers.co.uk where a booking fee may apply.
