Pulling in pints and customers

BEER fans will be raising a glass to The Black Tap Brew Pub which has just opened in Beech House in Church Green East, Redditch.

Building owner Grant Stain said the pub is pitched squarely at offering quality products in quality surroundings.

“We’re passionate about what we do and we do not brew for anyone else – the entire aim is to be part of the community here in Redditch,” he said.

The pub’s unique selling point lies behind the bar, where regulars will be able to see right in front of them the beer itself being brewed.

“We’re not really a micro-brewery, more of a nano-brewery, we brew just four casks of our beer at a time which gives us the ability to do special one-off ales for a special time of year, for a birthday party or may be for a business event,” said Grant.

“We’ve worked really hard to create a pub where business people would be happy to go to and enjoy quality craft beer and good pub grub in a civilised environment.”

On tap at the moment is the pub’s own Morning Glory, an IPA offering a thirst-quenching hint of orange, citrus and herbal notes, as well as a range of other beers and ciders.

In the pipeline though are Schlag Heap, a nutty mild and Bunny Boiler, a strong stout offering chocolate orange flavour.
