Pupils rake in the cash for charity

Redditch Editorial 25th Jul, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

JUST under £1,500 has been raised by determined pupils to make the borough heart safe.

Tudor Grange Redditch’s sixth form students have hosted quizzes, cake sales, cooking competitions and even persuaded their head of year to dress up as the Easter bunny – all for Redditch Heart Safe.

The charity, which is run by Robert and Maggie Underwood, funds the purchase and installation of defibrillators in schools, public places and leisure centres across the town and beyond.

The money raised is almost enough to buy two more defibrillators for the town.

Head students, Kira Swannell and Alex Evans, said it was very important to support local organisations such as Heart Safe and they were honoured to help such a dedicated and inspirational charity.
