BIG hearted fund raisers from the Shakespeare Inn in Studley are holding a massive fundraising day in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support this Saturday (August 20).
Featuring a pig roast, tasty ales and an entire evening of music headed by what promises to be a knockout gig by The Official Receivers, every penny raised will go towards the caring charity.
“We’re just giving something back to the wonderful nurses of Macmillan who do a fantastic job,” said spokesman Pat Cremin of the fund raising group the Shakespeare Warriors.
“They don’t mess about, they cut to the chase and give you all the support you need – they are fantastic.”
Sarah Diston, Macmillan fundraising manager in Warwickshire, said 2015 saw the charity commit more than £784,000 in the county alone, helping to support over 19,000 people living with cancer.
The fun starts at 4.30pm on Saturday with a good half dozen acts performing as a warm-up for the headliners – and it promises to be a great day out.
