A RECRUITMENT event is being held to encourage nurses and student nurses to take on extra training to help support the neonatal service within the county’s hospitals.
The move is part of efforts to boost the number of specialist neonatal nurses working for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust following a review of staffing levels.
Births may have to be restricted at the Alexandra Hospital over the next few months because of a shortage of such specialist nurses.
Vicky Bullock, matron for neonatal services across Worcestershire, said: “No matter what stage in your nursing career you are at, it is worth coming to meet us to find out more. We’re happy to give you advice and information about what is needed in order to specialise in neonatal care.
The event takes place on July 10 at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. To book contact Vicky Bullock on 01905 760 661 to book a time slot.
