A REDDITCH band has been officially signed to a record label after making waves across the UK.
Four-piece pop/rock outfit Lost At Home formed less than two years ago after best mates Ben Williams and Jacob Jenkins enlisted Jacob’s college friend James Steadman and auditioned to find drummer Richard Burman.
Just three weeks later, they took to the stage for a 20-minute set at the 2013 Morton Stanley Festival and since then they have gone on to release two EPs – Blaze The Sky and Lights Down – to critical acclaim, receive airplay on various radio stations and tour the country supporting bands.
Last summer, they were contacted by London-based record label Riverjuke who asked them to support The Last Carnival on the Birmingham leg of their tour at the O2 Academy. Just days after, they were asked to join them in Newcastle and Nottingham.
The partnership continued when they set off around the UK in October last year supporting another of Riverjuke’s bands and it was then discussions began about them signing their own deal. They have now produced a third EP – Let’s Go – which will be launched at Birmingham’s O2 Academy on Wednesday (March 11) with the title track available on iTunes and Amazon and the video on YouTube.
The band said: “As for the rest of the year, we are back on a UK tour in April and already have plans to record more new material, shoot another video and headline our own UK tour towards the end of the year.
“The past 18 months has been an unbelievable journey for us, sometimes hard to believe, but what stands out more than anything else is the fantastic people we have met and the fun we have had along the way.”
