A REDDITCH charity which supports the town’s homeless youngsters will be sleeping rough for a night to raise awareness of the problem.
Nightstop, based in the Ecumenical Centre on Evesham Walk, work with young people from 16 to 25 helping to find them accommodation or reconcile relationships with family members.
Now they are calling on residents to give up their beds for the night and join them in their annual sleep out on July 16.
Project manager Susan Sadler will be one bedding down outside the Debenhams in Redditch, and has partnered up with Redditch’s own 37th Signals Regiment.
Susan said: “Although the Sleep Out is not the full ‘homeless experience’, it will give participants an insight into what 80,000 young people experience every year.
“We recommend participants bring warm clothes and a sleeping bag to wrap up in and some cardboard to sleep on.”
