STUDENTS at a Redditch dance school are stepping out and celebrating their first birthday this week, marking the occasion with a party.

The Emma Charlotte Dance Academy, established by Emma Aston in September 2015, and she is celebrating the academy’s birthday with a dance school party next weekend (September 17).

The school based in Redditch and Alcester teaches ballet, tap, freestyle, street, cheerleading and contemporary dance to adults and children, and has also been involved with several charity events during its first year.

School principal Emma Aston said: “I have danced from a young age and I love sharing my passion with my students.

“It has been lovely to watch them progress into such beautiful dancers and we have achieved so much in a year- I have even had a student that has been accepted into the Midland Theatre Ballet & Elmhurst School of Dance. I am really excited to see what happens next. “

The students are also currently working towards their very first dance show, which will take the stage of the Palace Theatre in February next year.
