AS the nation prepares to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday this weekend, Kingfisher Shopping Centre is hosting its own celebration for shoppers with the launch of its very own food festival this Saturday and Sunday (11 and 12 June).
The Taste of Kingfisher festival marks the first in a series of food festivals coming to the Centre over the next few months. The events are aimed at celebrating different food themes as well as showcasing the Centre’s own wide range of food retailers.
This weekend’s festival will toast the best of British, with a focus on traditional British food from locally sourced suppliers. Shoppers can choose from a selection of food including fresh bread, fruit, pies, cakes and jams, as well as samples from the Centre’s own food retailers.
Ken Williams, General Manager at Kingfisher Shopping Centre, said: ‘This is a hugely exciting time for us as we launch our first Taste of Kingfisher food festival. We have more than 20 food retailers here in Centre and wanted to do something that would celebrate our diverse range of eateries.
‘With the Queen’s birthday celebrations and the start of the Euros approaching, what better time is there to celebrate the best of British!’
To mark the campaign, it is also offering one lucky winner the chance to eat out in THE Centre every week in 2017 with the launch of its Dining Club Card. The reward card will see shoppers collect 10 different stamps from the Centre’s food retailers for every purchase made. Shoppers can then enter a draw to win a year’s worth of dining there.
The festival, based in Walford Walk opposite Pep&Co, will be open from 9am to 5.30pm on Saturday, June 11 and 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday, June 12. The Dining Club Card will be available to collect from the Customer Service Desk from Saturday. For more visit www.kingfishershopping.co.uk .
