A REDDITCH adventure runner and author has been nominated for a publication award – and to top it off, his book is also scheduled for a release in paperback next year.

Doug Richards, aged 67, has been nominated in the publications category for the 2016 Running Awards for his book ‘Running Hot & Cold’. The presitigous ceremony will be held at O2 in London next April.

After an impressive response from the sales of his eBook edition published at the start of this year, Pitch Publishing has announced the release of a paperback edition March 1.

Doug, from Winyaes, said: “I have had fantastic feedback and reviews from runners and non-runners alike. It is not a training book that will turn you into a faster runner but rather a story of how the simple act of running has enriched my life, brought me many amazing adventures and carried me through some of life’s tougher moments.

“Whilst ebooks have undoubtedly enhanced the range of ways people discover new authors, there are many, myself included, who still like to hold a hard copy of a book in their hand and keep it on the bookshelf, so the news of a paperback release next spring is really exciting.

“The nomination for the Running Awards. which celebrate the best in running culture is the icing on the cake.”
