A MAN has been bitten by a dog twice while walking through an alleyway in Redditch, leaving him needing hospital treatment.

The man, in his 50s, was walking to Kimberley Close at midday on Sunday (July 17) when he went past two men and two women who stood with the dog.

The pet was on a lead but still managed to jump up and bite him on the chest and thigh.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward who may have seen the dog, which was described as the size of a boxer , with a thick brown coat like a Husky and a black and brown face.

The owner was a man in his late 50s, about 5 ft 9ins and was wearing a blue jumper and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police on the non emergency 101 number or to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
