REDDITCH MP Karen Lumley says she is delighted by the improvement in care provided by the Worcestershire Health and Care trust after they received a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
England’s chief inspector of hospitals awarded the service the rating after comprehensive assessment of its facilities.
The trust looks after the mental wellbeing of people in the county.
Mrs Lumley said: “I am both relieved and pleased that these improvements have been recognised. Mental health care has been a huge interest of mine since I became an MP, and one which I focused on during my time working in the Department of Health.
“I can’t state how important it is that we have good quality mental health provision here in North Worcestershire, and everywhere, and this report proves that it is indeed improving.”
The four areas were previously rated as needing improving in the January 2015 inspection but following visits in November last year and June 2016 they said they noted progress in all areas.
