Redditch pet owners warned after cat is shot

A CAT has been shot with an air riffle in Church Hill this week and Cat Rescue workers are warning residents to keep their pets safe.

Rescue worker Mel Booth has become increasingly concerned after the cat, belonging to one of her staff members had to undergo a major operation after she suffered a gun shot wound in Loxley Close.

“It is just awful. I mean what is wrong with these people.

“We though at first it was pellets but the vet said it looked like she had been shot with an air riffle.”

Another cat has gone missing from the area and rescue staff are asking residents to look out for an all white cat which wears a green collar with a bell.

They are urging anyone who may have spotted the cat to contact them on 07505743963 or if they see anyone harming pets or causing a danger to call the police on non emergency 101 number.
