POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was attacked outside St Bedes School on the Studley Road at around 1.15pm on Monday (July 11).

The victim, aged 16 is believed to have been assaulted by a man known to her. She sustained no injuries and the man was arrested at the scene.

Police Constable Andrew Wood said: “We are take all reports of assault very seriously and wish to speak to anyone who may have witnesses this assault and has yet to contact the police, to please come forward.”

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released on police bail until July 31, 2016.
