AS PART of today’s (Friday) National Child Sexual Exploitation Awareness Day, police are urging residents from all walks of life to think, spot and speak out against this kind of abuse.
Child sexual exploitation (CSE) can be incredibly hard to recognise, as many warning signs can easily be mistaken for typical child or adolescent behaviour. Don’t ignore something if you feel unsure, trust your instinct and report it.
Anyone who has been a victim, or who knows a victim, is urged to come forward and contact police on 101 – always call 999 in an emergency – or contact a support service in confidence such as The Glades on 0808 178 2058.
