A TEAM of quilters from Redditch are celebrating their 30th anniversary by taking part in an international competition.
The Redditch Quilters are entering their Baltimore quilt in the Festival of Quilts contest at the NEC in Birmingham from August 11-14.
The traditional applique quilt, which is created in blocks before being put together, involved a large team throughout the process.
Project leader Sue Nickson said: “It was important that we chose a design that all our members could contribute to.
“The level of experience varies so much in our group so we plumped for the Baltimore design where we knew each person could create a segment that would fit neatly together and look good as an overall design. It’s been a real group effort and we’re really proud of what we’ve achieved.”
The Festival of Quilts is Europe’s biggest patchwork and quilting show, attracting more than 300 exhibitors. Visit www.thefestival ofquilts.co.uk/ for more details.
