Roll up and have fun by becoming a 'Rounders Activator' in Redditch

Redditch Editorial 7th Jun, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

COMMUNITY groups and residents in Redditch are being sought to put forward ‘Rounders Activators’ and get the town joining in with the sport.

Groups can put forward members to attend a one day training session before going back out into the community to set up and run formal or informal Rounders teams.

The groups will be provided with equipment and support from the council as well as the free use of council owned parks and green spaces to play the games.

Hayley Gwilliam, health intervention officer, said: “Rounders is a game loved by everyone and is suitable for all ages. We’re encouraging as many community groups as possible to get involved and sign up an Activator or leader.

“You don’t need to be a sports team to take part; anyone can play whether you’re from a Mums and children’s group or if you’d like to set up family vs family teams to play together. Rounders is a great way to get anyone moving!”

The Activators one day training session will be at Arrow Vale Sports Centre on Saturday, June 25 and is completely free.
