A NEW scheme which helps vulnerable people find a safe place while out and about has officially launched.

The Safe Place project, which has been funded by West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner, allows those feeling insecure to seek help and sit in a quiet spot while out in the town.

The Kingfisher Shopping Centre marked the official launch and now businesses are being encourage to sign up to the project which includes stickers being displayed in shop windows and staff being trained on providing support.

Members of the public are also being encouraged to register and they will receive a special contact card.
