ROYAL Navy recruit Samantha King from Redditch has graduated as a Warfare Specialist from HMS Collingwood, Fareham, Hampshire.

The achievement marked the finale of the 21 year-old Able Rating’s phase 2 training with Victory Squadron.

Samantha joined the Royal Navy in February this year for a challenging career that would allow her to travel whilst obtaining new qualifications.

The former Trinity High School pupil said: “I have learned to believe in myself whilst passing all my courses and I look forward to joining my first ship.”

As a Warfare Specialist on board, she will be part of the team detecting threats to the ship, identifying targets and making key tactical decisions.

She will now join her first ship, the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth, the biggest ship ever built for the Royal Navy.
