ST THOMAS More Catholic First School in Woodrow is embracing fundraising for BBC Children in Need this year and has set an ambitious target of £1,000.
Tonight, Friday (November 13) 74 pupils and 15 staff will sleep over in the school hall with music, quizzes and activities entertaining both children and staff during the evening.
Earlier in the day, the children and staff had come to school in their pyjamas, paying £1 each for the privilege.
The sale of BBC Children in Need wristbands has also proved very popular, with 150 sold so far.
Earlier in the week the BBC Pudsey Mobile had come into school to collect the pennies raised by the children, parents and staff.
Headteacher Teresita Moriani said: “The school would also like to thank Domino’s Pizza (town centre), Merchants Fish Bar (Headless Cross), The Shahi Palace Indian Restaurant, Morrison’s Supermarket and Pizza Hut (Lodge Park) for their kind donations for the children’s dinners and breakfasts, enabling the school to donate all monies raised to Children In Need.”
