Showcasing talent to make town proud

Redditch Editorial 27th Nov, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

AN EVENING celebrating the best of the borough is set to feature songs from the shows.

Charity performers Sophie Grogan and Brett Elesmore will be taking to the stage at the Pride of Redditch event on Friday, December 12, at South Redditch Social Club.

The pair put on the I Dreamed A Dream night at the Palace Theatre each year and will be returning for their third show in March next year.

Rebecca Blake, Pride of Redditch organiser, said she hoped the line up which will be completed by DJ Milo of Sick Entertainment would help dispel claims from a national survey Redditch was the least musical town in the country.

“Having seen the talented cast last year, I was delighted when they agreed to perform a mini-show at the Pride of Redditch this December.

“The selection of show songs will no doubt raise the roof and their year-round efforts for charity make them a very special musical act for the event.”

Sophie added: “We are flattered to be asked to perform at the Pride of Redditch awards and fully support the awareness these awards bring to the unsung heroes of our community.”

A total of 69 nominees, including individuals, groups and businesses, have been put forward and the judging panel is now considering which will be awarded prizes.
