A MAN was slashed in the face and arm with a broken bottle during an attack near the town centre.
The assualt happened on Ipsley Street about 5.30am on Saturday, August 30.
The 34-year-old victim was approached by three men as he waited for a taxi. The group cut him with the broken bottle and he sustained serious injuries which required treatment at the Alexandra Hospital and later at the Worcestershire Royal.
Two of the attackers were white and one was mixed race.
Det Con Matthew Archer said: “This is a particularly violent assault in which the victim sustained serious injuries leading him to require specialist care.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the attack or seen the suspects in the time leading up to it.”
